    Energy and commodities

    Loya co-founded Choice Energy in Houston in 1994. The natural gas brokerage was an early part of his career in energy and commodities.

    Brokerage consolidation

    OTC Global Holdings was formed in 2007 by uniting Choice Energy with five independent brokerages. Columbia's 2017 profile reported that the company served more than 450 institutional clients.

  3. 03

    Electronic trading

    In 2009 the firm launched EOXLive, a web-based platform pairing electronic trading with voice brokerage.

  4. 04

    BGC acquisition

    BGC Group acquired OTC Global Holdings in April 2025. The transaction made energy, commodities and shipping BGC's largest asset class.

    GETCHOICE!

    Loya is the founder and chairman of GETCHOICE!, which provides energy, telecom and utility management solutions.
